I’m Colin Adair, and CinemaBass is my independent audio post-production studio — built around one simple idea: great sound should make you feel something.

I work across the full audio post-production process, bringing together dialogue editing, repair and restoration, sound design, Foley and re-recording mixing to create soundtracks that support the picture, strengthen the story and ultimately disappear into the experience of the film.

I work primarily with independent filmmakers and production companies, often working remotely with productions across the UK, US and internationally. Every project is different, and I’m used to wearing a lot of hats — sometimes all of them on the same film. From the first production recordings through to the final mix and delivery, I take care of the details while keeping sight of the bigger picture.

The cinema you see throughout this website isn't a photograph of my physical studio.

The room is imagined. The work is real.

It is a visual representation of the way I approach every project — a cinematic space where dialogue, sound design, Foley, music and mixing all have their own place, but ultimately work together as one soundtrack.

Whether a project needs a single dialogue edit, a complete sound editorial package, Foley and sound design, a final 5.1 mix, my approach remains the same:

Make the sound serve the story.
Make every detail count.
And make the finished film feel bigger because of it.

DIALOGUE (Centre Channel) explores the craft of editing, repairing and restoring production recordings while preserving the performance.

SOUND DESIGN (Front L/R) looks at the creation of atmosphere, effects, environments and the sonic details that give a film its identity.
